This week Barnaby laminated the floors for stations 5 and 6 with help from Charlie. Mark started machining the oak for the transom but unfortunately found varying degrees of rot in all of the boards. This will obviously have to be replaced though we still hope to have this sorted and the transom up before the Easter break.
We're coming to the end of the sawn frames now. They're all assembled with just number 6 waiting for its laminated floor to be fitted to complete the set. We've had some really good oak for these with the grain following the curves of the frames well. This makes for great strength in the hull.
