This week we've been cutting up the new oak into frame components. We now have all that we need. More frames have been assembled and placed on the keel. We now have 9 of the thirteen up.
Timber for floors has been a challenge. We need timber floors for frames 3 to 8. Four of these we have made from home grown oak. We had a large oak blown over by a storm down by the stream a few years ago and I'm really pleased to have been able to use a bit of Kenegie Oak in the structure. Most of the rest of it is only suitable for the fit out.
The last 2 floors will be laminated from dried oak and Barnaby has started making up the laminating jig.
